Grasse is located in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the South of France. A favourite Provence holiday destination. Grasse is considered the world''s capital of perfume. Grasse has had a prospering perfume industry since the end of the 18th century and today is the centre of the French perfume industry, where many "noses" ("nez" in French,) are trainedhave spent time in Grasse to be able to differentiate over 2,000 different scents. There is also an annual international exhibition of roses: "Expo Rose". The town of Grasse is also famous for being the setting in the final chapters of the internationally acclaimed novel "Perfume" by Patrick Süskind.
